How did you start playing hurling? My wife Melissa and I learned about hurling on vacation in Ireland. We got interested and Melissa found out we had a club in Philly. Melissa talked me into checking it out, and we’ve been addicted ever since!

Favorite Hurling Memory: Scoring my first point on a free in a match. Nothing like it!
Goal of 2022 season: Help the team win games in whatever way I can, whether it’s scoring, assists or cheering on my team from the sideline. This club is amazing and I enjoy the games, practices and friendships!
All time favorite food: Wings from Byrnes Tavern in Port Richmond, or a Schmitter from McNallys in Chestnut Hill.

How did you start playing hurling? Needed a new sport in college when rugby wasn’t working out. Started pocing around with Tim Fick at Indiana University and went to be IU GAA’s first president

How did you start playing hurling? My wife’s father is from Dublin which provided an intro to Gaelic football. From there I found hurling and was instantly obsessed. I knew Philly had a long Irish history so I thought there was bound to be a GAA club. I reached out to Na Tóraidhe and joined last season. It’s a great group of people here.

How did you start playing hurling? Had hurls around the house growing up but never actually played until joining NT. I googled if there was anybody playing near me and I found the team.

Favorite Hurling Memory: Watching the sliotar really take flight the first time I struck it well, been hooked ever since.
Goal of 2022 season: Start in a game and contribute to a win. Get in better shape than last year, maybe get a little faster. Everything is a milestone still so I’m just stoked to get at it

I saw a match, while waiting for a wedding in Ireland and when I got back to the states, I immediately googled teams in the United States and that is how I joined the Denver Gaels. Knowing I was moving to the Philly suburbs, I met up with some of the Na Toraidhe/DelCo folks at the National tournament last year and glad to be part of the team.
